Governing Boards
Our governing board champions the IMA mission and long-term vision of the organization. Multiple roles are available on the Global Board of Directors, the ICMA Exam Review Committee, and the IMA research foundation.
Committees
Volunteers in the Committee on Ethics, Regional Advisory Committees, Global Awards and Leadership Experience Selection Committee (GALESC), and other committees help support IMA’s Global Board through governance and strategic oversight.
Chapters
Each of our 200+ chapters is supported by a chapter leader in a volunteer position who organizes meetings, special events and community service projects for their members, driving forward the IMA mission and vision locally.
Shared Interest Groups
Become a leader, champion, or moderator of one of our Shared Interest Groups. These topic-specific groups are structured communities with leaders and moderators who guide discussions and hold virtual events for learning and networking.
Campus Outreach
Campus Influencers return to their alma mater to speak with students and share their experiences on the job and as a member of IMA. If you’re a student, you can apply to lead your school’s chapter and highlight that extracurricular on your resume.
Publishing and Peer Review
Contribute to the award-winning Strategic Finance magazine or Statements of Management Accounting (SMAs), the IMA Educational Case Journal (IECJ). Author your own articles or become a peer reviewer for the IMA Research Foundation.
Speaking Engagements
Show off your public speaking skills and expertise as a presenter at the IMA Accounting and Finance Conference, or at your local chapter. Submit your best topic and proposal to get approved as a speaker at an event.
Flexible Volunteering
If you’re looking for short-term ways to share your time, we have ad-hoc volunteer opportunities too. Apply to be a pilot tester, a content writer for the CMA or CSCA exams, or a submission reviewer for scholarships and grants.
